The Poughkeepsie Passion Play premieres in New York under the direction of Dr. James D. Whitmire as Crossroads Baptist Church, Living Water Church, and Love Worth Finding Ministries join together for this presentation.

Thanks to generous volunteers and donors, over 100,000 professions of faith have been made to date at multiple locations of these presentations. The impact is eternal. With a cast, crew, and orchestra of over 150, more than 5,000 attend each year.

Dr. James D. Whitmire for nearly four decades produced and directed the Memphis Passion Play, Jacksonville (Florida) Passion Play, Uruguay Passion Play, the Mid-America Passion Play, and now the Poughkeepsie Passion Play. The staged musical production will take advantage of the beautiful venue at Living Water Church, 260 Mill St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

I am excited to announce that Living Water Church, in cooperation with Crossroads Baptist Church Memphis, is presenting the Poughkeepsie Passion Play in the beautiful auditorium at 260 Mill St. I am personally producing and directing the play on behalf of Living Water and Crossroads.

There are several ways to support the production in addition to attending the performance:

  • We are offering companies, businesses, and individuals the opportunity to sponsor this production. Sponsorship levels are $50,000, $25,000, $10,000, $5,000 or $2,500.
  • Funds raised will underwrite items such as the building of the set, costumes, promotional materials and other expenses incurred in producing the Poughkeepsie Passion Play both for the 2025 production and future presentations.
  • Lastly, please pray for this production of the Poughkeepsie Passion Play, that it will be a witness for Christ to the entire Hudson Valley. Thank you in advance for supporting this outreach and coming alongside everyone involved in this production through prayer.

  • What is a Passion Play? A Passion Play is a dramatic retelling of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Mid-America Passion Play uses music and drama to share the truth of Jesus, His earthly ministry and His redemptive work on the cross.
  • Where is the event? The performances will be in the main auditorium of Living Water Church, 260 Mill St. in downtown Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Free parking is available in the city parking garage directly adjacent to the church. Garage entrances are located on Market St. and Garden St. The church is also easily accessible by bus, with the transit hub located next door to the church. For information on parking for private coach tour buses, please call 845-393-1592.
  • How can I purchase tickets? Click the “buy tickets” button elsewhere on this page to purchase general admission tickets. Please note: ticket purchases are non-refundable.
  • What time do the doors open? Doors will open one hour prior to the performance.
  • How long is the performance? Approximately two hours with no intermission.
  • Can I bring my children to the performance? This is a family-friendly event and children are welcome. However, some elements of the presentation may be intense for small children.
  • I have some mobility issues. Are there stairs to navigate? There are 4-5 steps to enter the venue on Mill St. and access seats on the floor of the auditorium. There are numerous steps to access the balcony level.
  • What if I or someone in my party is in a wheelchair? A ramp entrance is available for wheelchairs. Reserved handicap parking spaces are available on two sides of the church building. For more information, call the church office at 845-393-1592.
  • What hotels are in the area? DoubleTree by Hilton is directly across the street from the venue. However, there are many other reputable hotels within a few miles of the venue.
  • How can I support PPP financially? You may mail a check to Living Water Church, P.O. Box 502, Lagrangeville, NY 12540, payable to Living Water Church with “PPP 2025 Donation” in the note section of your check. To access online giving, please go to the church website LWCNY.org.
